Housie Player Types

There many different Housie player types who interact with other Housie players in various ways.

Here are some of the most common Housie player personality types:

• The player who’s just there to win. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to win, but sometimes Housie players can take the game a bit too seriously and don’t see the fun in it.
• The player who talks during the games. Again, this isn’t a bad thing, but if the player is making it hard for others to focus, it becomes an annoyance.
• The player who always ‘borrows’ ticket but never returns the favour. Community spirit is important, but giving and sharing is essential.
• The player who complains. It could be their loss, their bad luck, their bad day or anything else that is not right.
• The friendly player who throws you a lucky dollar and loans you a ticket. This is the best Housie player in the hall as they know how to enjoy the game while making friends rather than trouble.
